Updating the General Information Page of a Venue Profile

This help document will explain how to update the General Information section of your venue listing within www.myeventschannel.com


The information you can update in the General Information section includes:


  • The Venue name
  • Star rating (if applicable to your venue)
  • Your overall venue style (this will enable agents viewing your profile to gain an understanding of what type of venue you are)
  • A link to your own website
  • A short description of your venue 
  • A full description of your venue
  • Date your venue was last refurbished
  • Venue address & location
  • Contact telephone and fax numbers
  • Transportation links & car parking

How to update the General Information section


Firstly ensure that you have logged in to www.myeventschannel.com using your e-mail address and password. 


Then navigate to the Venue Profile tab on the dashboard and select the venue you would like to amend the General Information.


On the left hand side of the venue dashboard select "General Information". This will bring you to the General Information section.

You can update the venue name, website URL and Short/Full description by free typing or copy and pasting the information into the relevant fields. 


For the rating and Overall style you can choose the most applicable option by clicking on the drop down box and selecting the relevant option. 


Updating your location


To update your location, simply click on the "Location" tab. In the first box if you type in your venue name then the system will usually be able to find your venue and pre-populate your address for you! You will then need to follow through the steps on the wizard. 



If the details of the address are incorrect you will be able to amend the address details. 

The next stage is to ensure that your venue is correctly pinned on the map, if the pin is incorrectly placed then please re-pin by clicking on the pin and dragging and dropping the pin into the correct location. 

You will then need to pick the Primary Location for your venue from the list of Locations provided. This will be listed in the location closest to your venue. This will mean your venue will appear in searches for that location either by our agents or our website. 

The next steps of the location wizard will show train stations, airports, tube stations (if applicable) and motorways. These should be automatically allocated based on your venue's location however these can be amended by selecting the drop down against the relevant section.


Don't forget to press Save.


Updating Phone Numbers


You can update your telephone numbers or fax numbers by simply typing the telephone number in the relevant boxes. If you have specific contact numbers for Central Reservations/Conference & Banqueting or Accommodation please ensure you enter these numbers in the relevant fields, ensuring that you click Save once you have entered all the numbers.



Updating Transportation


This is usually automatically completed for you with the details of the nearest train or tube stations, airports and motorway links. 


You have the option to manually add any information that is missing. We do recommend that you enter some directions on how to get to your venue whether from the nearest train station or motorway. 



Updating Parking


Please ensure that you complete this section with parking available at your venue, along with any associated costs.
